On May 19, 2020, the handover ceremony of Anti COVID-19 medical supplies donated by Jack Ma and Alibaba Foundation was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guyana. Mr. Chen Xilai, Deputy Chief of the Chinese Embassy, handed over 30,000 masks and 1,536 test kits to Dr. Persaud, Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry of Public Health. Mr. Hu Hanming, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy and Mr. July, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guyana also attended the ceremony.
