On January 21, 2021, Ambassador Cui Jianchun bid farewell to Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). Amb. LaRocque thanked Amb. Cui for his contribution to the establishment of an open communication channel between the CARICOM Secretariat and the Chinese Embassy in Guyana and expressed appreciation for China's valuable assistances during the fight against COVID-19. Amb. Cui thanked Amb. LaRocque and the colleagues from the Secretariat for their support over the past 4 years and wished that the relationship between the two sides will continue to make new progresses.
