2021-03-13 23:20

On March 13th, Mr. Chen Xilai, chargé de faire of the Chinese Embassy, published an article entitled "The country is the people, and the people are the country" on a local newspaper. Below is the full article:

The 2021 "Two Sessions" of China just concluded in Beijing. The "Two Sessions" are the collective name of the National People's Congress of China (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). These are the solemn halls of socialist democratic politics with Chinese characteristics, as well as the "stethoscope" and "microphone" to ensure that the governing party exercises state power for the people. Representatives of the NPC are elected through a combination of direct and indirect elections, and members of the CPPCC are selected through consultation and recommendation by the central committees of various parties, mass organizations, non-party democrats, and various sectors of the society.

The 2021 "Two Sessions" are held at a special historic time, the beginning of the 14th "Five-Year Plan" and the new journey of China's building of a modern socialist country in an all-round way. They have the significance of the summing up the work in the past five years and starting a new journey for China, attracting attention at home and abroad.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang pointed out in the government work report on March 5 that, in 2020, China's COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures have protected people's lives and health to the greatest extent. China created 11.86 million new jobs in cities and towns, with the per capita disposable income of residents across the country grew by 2.1%, and the remaining 5.51 million impoverished people in rural areas were lifted out of poverty under the current standard. In 2020, all the villagers in "Cliff Village" in Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province moved to new homes equipped with sofas, TVs and water heaters near the county. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently sent a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulating China on its comprehensive victory in poverty alleviation, saying that "this remarkable achievement is a huge contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the plan of action for a better and more prosperous world. "

Th better life that people yearn for has always been the goal of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government. China has formulated the "Proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035", which puts forward the adherence to the new development concept, focusing on improving the quality and efficiency of development and promoting full growth. The priority in 2021 is to consolidate and conserve the results of COVID-19 prevention and control as well as economic and social development. It is estimated that in 2021 China's GDP will grow by more than 6%, more than 11 million new urban jobs will be created, and residents' income will grow steadily.

According to a poll conducted by the Harvard's Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation since 2003, the overall satisfaction of the Chinese people with the Chinese government has continued to increase, reaching 93.1% in 2016. Singapore's "Blackbox Research" poll in 2020 showed that among 23 economies, Chinese people have the highest scores of satisfactions with the government's performance in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. History has fully proved that the country is the people, and the people are the country, and that the people's minds are related to the survival of the ruling party. "People-centered" and people's support are the biggest secrets of the Chinese Communist Party's continuous success.
