"Chinese Dream" Photography Exhibition Held at Guyana National Museum

     The “Chinese Dream” Photographic Exhibition co-hosted by China Photographers Association and Ministry of Culture of Guyana was held at Guyana National Museum on December 29, 2014. Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Zhang Limin, Honorable Minister of Culture of Guyana Dr. Frank Anthony, representatives from the diplomatic corps and local media visited the exhibition.

     Ambassador Zhang pointed out in his remarks that since the diplomatic ties were established 42 years ago, China and Guyana have achieved constant progress in cooperation and exchanges covering various fields. Enhancing friendly contacts has become a common wish of two peoples. The Chinese people are striving for the dream of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This exhibition reflects the concept of harmonious coexistence of human and nature and Chinese people’s pursuit for happy life. Ambassador Zhang welcomed Guyanese friends to visit and get a perception of China personally and hoped that the two sides can work together and make new contributions to deepening the friendship and cooperation between China and Guyana.

     Minister Anthony said that the cultural exchanges between China and Guyana have become increasingly frequent over the recent years. The visit and performance of the Chinese art groups have demonstrated diversified Chinese culture to the local people. He applauded the Confucius Institute at the University of Guyana for its role of platform for learning Chinese language and culture, and believed that the photographic exhibition would further enhance the connections and mutual understanding between the two peoples.

     The exhibition of 35 photos was greatly enjoyed by the visitors. They said that the works which were closely linked to the ordinary people’s life had helped them get a more comprehensive understanding of China.
