H.E. Mr. Zhang Limin, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana hosted a work luncheon for the diplomatic corps in Guyana on January 10, attracting about 20 representatives from the Embassies, High Commissions and international organizations in Guyana.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhang updated the guests on the development trend of China and the reform plan adopted by the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Pointing out that the reform is comprehensive, focused and solid in action, Ambassador Zhang underscored that China's new round of reform would bring great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and create new opportunities for the cooperation between China and the world.

Ambassador Zhang also expounded China's position on the Japanese Prime Minister's visit to the Yasukuni Shrine, and said that Abe's blatant visit to the Yasukuni Shrine where Class-A war criminals of World War II are honored is a gross trample on the feelings of the Chinese and Asian peoples victimized in the war of aggression, an open challenge to the historical justice and human conscience and a brazen provocation to the outcome of World War II and the post-war order. Ambassador Zhang stated clearly that China will never allow Japan to overthrow the verdict on its history of aggression and stands ready to work with the rest of the world to jointly uphold historical justice and world peace.

Brazilian Ambassador Andrade, Dean of the diplomatic corps in Guyana expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for providing a very good platform of exchanges for the envoys. The diplomatic envoys had a cordial and friendly conversation on the issues of common interests during the luncheon.
