2021-01-27 23:01

Updated on January 27th, 2021

In order to reduce cross-border transmission of Covid-19,starting from November 6th, 2020, all Chinese and foreign passengers who are to fly from Guyana to China will be required to take Nucleic Acid and IgM anti-body blood tests and then apply for a Green health code with the "HS" mark (Chinese Citizens) or Green Health Status Declaration QR code with the "HDC" logo(Non-Chinese Citizens)before boarding the flights in both Guyana and the last transit country.

The specific requirements are as follows:

I. Test Requirements

Passengers going to China via direct fights must take Nucleic Acid and IgM anti-body blood tests within 48 hours before boarding. They must take the tests at a medical institution designated or recognized by the Chinese Embassy in Guyana and then apply at the Chinese Embassy in Guyana for a Green Health Code with the "HS" mark or Green Health Status Declaration QR code with the "HDC" logo, together with certificates of negative results of both tests.

Passengers going to China via connecting flights must take Nucleic Acid and IgM anti-body blood tests in Guyana within 48 hours before boarding their flight to the transit country and then take both tests again in the last transit country within 48 hours before boarding the plane to China. Passengers must apply at the Chinese embassies in BOTH countries for Green Health Codes with the "HS" mark or Green Health Status Declaration QR codes with the "HDC" logo with certificates of negative results of both tests.

II. Chinese Passengers Applying for Green Health Code with the"HS"Mark

Chinese passengers must upload to the WeChat app photos of their negative Nucleic Acid and IgM anti-body blood tests results, which will then be examined and verified by the Chinese embassies. Then they will get the Green Health Code with the "HS" mark. Passengers must present the Green Health Code within its validity period to the airlines flying directly to China before boarding.

III. Non-Chinese Passengers Applying for Green Health Status Declaration QR code

Non-Chinese Passengers departing from Guyana to China, after obtaining negative Nucleic Acid Test result and IgM anti-body blood test in Guyana, should immediately visit the website: https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/, enter the login interface, fill in and submit the information item by item. The Chinese Embassy in Guyana will examine and verify the information and determine to grant the Green Health Status Declaration QR code with the "HDC" logo. Passengers should present the electronic version or printed version of the QR Code when boarding.

It should be noted that, regardless of whether or not to enter the last transit country (the country of departure for direct flights to China), passengers are required to undergo Nucleic Acid Test and IgM anti-body blood test in that country. After obtaining both negative test results, follow the same procedure to apply for the QR code with the "HDC" logo granted by local Chinese Embassy or Consulate. Passengers shall cooperate with the air operator for checking of the code before boarding.

IV. Passengers inoculated the COVID-19 vaccines

All passengers who are to fly from Guyana to China will be required to take Nucleic Acid and IgM anti-body blood tests. If you have been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine, the vaccination certificate should also be uploaded, together with the Nucleic Acid Test and IgM anti-body blood results, to the Wechat mini program of COVID-19 Prevention Health Code International Version (or website https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/ ). The Embassy will comprehensively review your application. Please refer to the specific review result for details.

V. Reminder:

Please read the requirements carefully and follow them accordingly. Failure to obtain the green health code with the "HS" mark or the Green Health Status Declaration QR code with the "HDC" logo together with negative nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests results means you do not qualify for boarding the flight to China and will have to change your itinerary.

If you must go to China via connecting flights, please check the transit country's entry regulations and its nucleic acid and IgM anti-body blood tests requirements beforehand. Failure to enter the transit country or meet the requirements regarding the tests, the Green Health Code or the Green Health Status Declaration QR code could result in being stranded and heightened infection risks.

If a passenger's test certificates and other materials need to be examined and verified during weekends or other public holidays according to his/her own personal itinerary arrangements, please notify the Embassy in advance during working hours.

Please refer tothis link for the list of designated Nucleic Acid and IgM anti-body blood test institutions in Guyana.
